Weekend

My weekend was amazing! I got my first pocket knave, watched Percy Jackson and cleaned my room all at my grandmas!

      One day there was a alligator named Gator. Gator loved to read Gator read for hours. Sometimes on weekends Gator read for hours. Gator had a friend his friend named Grace. Grace read but not as much as Gator. Gator liked to recommend books to Grace. Grace liked to recommend books to Gator. They sometimes even raced each other to finish books. Guess who won most of the time? Gator! But Grace won sometimes. They where such good friends.

Would you rather ride a motorcycle or a horse?

I would rather ride a motorbike because a motorbike goes faster than a horse. They both have very low safety. If you fall on a motorbike you can be killed or seriously hurt.On a horse you can get crushed easily. you would be dead or seriously hurt. If it lands on your leg probably not. body yes.

Drug and Alcohol class

Ms. Rozman teaches the kids about smoking and drinking.

 One day there was a boy named Bob.He was in 4th  grade,today in his class they were learning about boost.It was fun to learn about it,but the class was being really loud.                      

   Over the week end I was sick. I had a tempurture of 9.99 and a very stuffy nose. On Saturday I woke up at 1:36 in the morning and could not go back to sleep because i had a stuffy nose. So i got ready for the day and played on the computer on papas pancakeria more tired than ever till 4:00. Than I went up stairs to the bathroom and found that it was not as stuffy in there and made a bed and went to sleep. then my brother woke me up. We went to his cub scout thing that took hours and came home and went to bed. On sunday we went to the mall and saw a Justin Beaber doll that sung. After that we went to A & B and came home and went to bed.

Stages of Development for Multiplicative Thinking

I thought I would share a graphic I received last year showing the development of multiplicative thinking.  I shared it with the kids today too.  You can see it's a sort of ladder, that grows from repeated addition to the standard algorithm that we learned in school.  My job this year is to move kids up the ladder.  Some are already making their own way up.  

Please note that we WILL be teaching the standard algorithm.  If you want to share it at home...that's absolutely fine!

Would you rather... Live where it is always sunny and 70 degrees? Or Have all four seasons, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring? I would rather live with all four seasons because i would like to see everything in each season. If i lived where it was always sunny,it would be kinda boring. With not a lot to see or not a lot to do. It would be a very boring,stinky life. Plus, you would have to do a lot of work in the garden when its hot. Well i better go so...bye

Morning Math

Here are some pictures of work we did in math.  We thought about the math multiplication facts we still needed to learn - and realized there really aren't that many left.  We also learned that if you don't know a fact, you can break it into smaller arrays to figure it out.  We also learned a new word.  Subatize!  I wonder if you all remember what it means?

Monday Calendar Work!

When I go to the corn maze. Every year I go to the corn maze at mazza .My favorite part is when I get to see the animals and pick a person to come with me. Their pastries are very good  too.

Class Rules!

Our class rules are mathematical!  So far this year we have found 4 rules that helped us predict the future!

Nest and Eggs!  Nest x 3 = Eggs
Day and Butterflies! Day x 2 + 1 = Butterflies (Thanks Nova!)
Calendar! Day x 11 = Modern Numeral
Decimeters! Decimeters x 10 = Centimeters

Using connections to these and other problems....we hope to learn more about patterns, rules and..... PREDICTING THE FUTURE!

Today I just got my flute and I am so excited about it!
As soon as I have a lesson with it I am going to use it.  During the lesson I am going to play my flute a lot.

Atoms are solids...liquids...gases...everything even us. We are atoms. We are the smartest race from ? in 4th grade.  I like science. It's cool.   Atoms. The End!

What happened today?

Today we learned about atoms.  Atoms are made of protons, neutrons and electrons.  If you mix water rubbing alcohol then you will see that 1 cup plus 1 cup wasn't really 2 cups.  The electrons are very far away from the nucleus.  ONE MILLION atoms can fit on the head of a pin.  Light, sound and heat are energy.....NOT matter!  All elements are listed on the PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS.  H2O stands for oxygen, and 2 hydrogens and they make water!

One day when I came to school, it was completely empty. So I did all my favorite things I ran to the computer lab and played thousands of games. Then I raced to my classroom and stuffed my pockets with all my favorite flavors of lolly-pops.

Today in writing, we talked a little about how writers revise and edit their work.

One day when the school was completely empty I snuck into the gym and got one of the bouncy balls and bounced all over the school.Then I stopped bouncing and went in the cafeteria and ate all the leftover spaghetti.Then i went to the music room and had a fun time playing all the instruments.Then I went to Mrs.Pearson's room and opened the door and had just a few {but really not a few}lollypops.

Today we learned the word "Permanent" and used it in our journaling.  We also practiced subtraction strategies and used the area model to divide!  There was a great discussion about our calendar pattern as well. These kids are really good at having respectful, academic discussions!

 I really don't  know what to right but i just want to say that, I love to be in this class my favorite thing is to write of course mostly everyone knows that. Well if I am able to I'm probably going show this to my so I'm hoping its going to turns out good. So I really hope I can read my story to you guys when its done I think its AWESOME so far! it starts out with Keera's friend Anna not going to Keera's house when she suppose to, Keera suspects that Anna was concealing something from her!
